Does this car have an ambient(outside) temperature sensor on the dash by any chance? If so, how much for the LCD gauge from the dash?

Thanks.
sorry it does not. I didn't know they came on such old cars?

Ah dash and blast it all... nevermind. I don't recall you stating how old it was? My 940, built towards the end of 1993 but L plated is pre-wired for it but didn't come with it. I think they introduced them in 1994 as an option? Not sure.

I guess i didn't, in my head all 940's are 'old' in a sense

it's a 1992

The engine is relatively unusual, and it's worth trying to find a home for it (and its matching ECUs) before it gets binned. If all else fails, the head is worth removing.

cheers

James

yes, it really runs super smooth too, ive never done anything big like engine removal before, hence really wanting to try it. Out of interest, how much less would i get for scrap value roughly if it was just a rolling shell?

Oh hell, how did I miss that it was a B230FB. Save the cylinder head off that engine for sure Lixah, like Foggy says it's worth a decent sum.

edit: scrap value can vary depending on who takes it. I got £60 for an engineless 940 shell, but it was also crammed with a bunch of other scrap I had laying around. I could have got more delivering it to the yard myself but I wasn't in a position to do so.

Scrap value for the shell is probably circa £150 (although I'm not that up to date on scrap rate - call your local yard and ask for the rate per ton on steel - used to be about £165/ton).

Removing a redblock is not difficult. The hardest part is getting it past the gearbox. For that reason, I tend to remove them with the gearbox still attached.

cheers

James

What condition/how faded are the rear light clusters and front indicators? I just need some less faded lenses to tidy mine up.
