How much?
I'm considering chipping my D5 215 bhp engine and I noticed that you omitted one of the important statistics on your remap; how much did it cost? Can you quote in £ per bhp. I've come across a remap for an extra 44bhp at just over £9 per bhp. How did yours compare to that?

MTE remap
Quick question guys.
I've decided on an MTE remap for my V70 2.4D 163, it's a 2007 Euro 4, based on the good feedback on this excellent forum. I've got the initial software from Don, now I'm waiting for the soft-loader cable to arrive. I have installed the MTE ViD tool on a clean version of Windows 7 Professional; it appears to have installed OK. The proof will be when the cable arrives & I have to install the USB drivers. Just wondering whether anyone else has done this successfully with W7 ? ( I can get hold of Windows XP if it comes to it, but not so easily as Windows 7 and XP is getting very old now. Thanks

Hi I have never used that soft, but I am a radio ham and have used a lot of usb/rs232(comport) programs on windows xp and anything I have used works on windows 7 as well, as long as the drivers work, also you can right click on the mouse and run in compatibility xp mode with windows 7,

Hi Dave
The figures I have seen for the euro 4 engine are 225bhp / 480 nm. I'm more interested in drivability than actual numbers though. I'd already been using a Bluespark tuning box on my car which was declared as an "engine chip" and it didn't make any big difference to the premium, together with lowering springs and extra lights. I guess that's because I'm old........ John

Remap numbers
These are the numbers I got from another thread on here:
FYI T5R+* Here is a breakdown of the top 4 tuners (IMO) in no particular order. 2.4D Euro 4 (2006 onwards) VIN code 69 Standard = 163 hp / 340 Nm RICA = 226 hp / 460 Nm (Normal Tune) BSR = 220 hp / 455 Nm HEICIO = 210 hp / 460 Nm MTE = 225hp / 480 Nm D5 Euro 4 (2006 onwards) VIN code 71 Standard = 185 hp / 400 Nm RICA = 226 hp / 460 Nm (Normal Tune) Simple fact is that the Euro 4 2006 onwards 2.4D and D5 re exactly the same engine, with software being the only difference. The old D5 and the new 2.4D are NOT the same engines, even though they produce the same power and torque in standard form, ie 163 hp / 340 Nm. This is what causes the confusion and is the reason why many people think the new 2.4D is just a rebadged old D5, its not! I'm not exactly sure how MTE will leave any of the other tuners standing, by the looks of it they will be similar (suprise suprise) but with different characteristics.* To answer one of your first questions, I would definately buy the 2.4D as it will tune to the same power as the D5 but cost less. It is the same engine after all. Old common failures were injectors and weak intercooler seals, however i have no idea if these have been rectified on the newer models. Perhaps a tech may be able to help you on that. Hope that helps

Got the USB cable today Dave, having trouble loading the drivers though.
Anyone on here got the MTE soft loader installed, could you tell me which driver it uses please ? I've got the unzipped folder with MTE drivers, but my PC still can't locate the driver. Thanks John
