Angry Drivers Door

Hi
Any one else had this problem on there V60D3 intermittent fault on drivers door would not unlock .Rest of car fine then fine for a month or so them back to same problem then on Friday door would not lock / stay closed as I found out when Setting off pulled over and checked door which had not locked on to the pillar catch my mechanic says new door lock £200 +vat then £80 to fit now done

I would try and lubricate it with WD40 or similar , spray UP into the catch and open and shut the door a few times then lubricate again . , failing that water ingress would be the problem , new locks have a waterproof hood on them .

I did that with the original one this is a new replacement lock so will this have the hood ?
