did you also update the bootloader?

the question is what the bootloader version was before. if newer (2018-12-31, +/-) the it is still easy to make it operate:
- insert key to ignition I or II.
- send "boot_loader.run", bootloader activation (before vb2019-12-08)
- send "bootloadet.run", bootloader activation (vb2019-12-08+), part of the latest firmware package
- send "btphone_p2v2.btb", firmware image. download v2019-09-05, it works for wavecom modems.
Hi Marek,

Yes I did update the bootloader to.
I had vb2018-12-31, and v2019-09-05 when I started the update.

After the update and it was stuck in the "Please wait..."-message, I even tried both "boot_loader.run" and "bootloader.run", but none of the commands did work.

The trick was to turn the key to "0" and wait for several minutes, I waited about 15-20 minutes. After that I turned off all BT-signals that was paired to the BT Phone, and then I was able to navigate to and execute the "update" command in the menus, to set the BT Phone in update mode. If any BT device was connected when I chosed that command, the BT Phone would try to dial that number instead of set the BT module in update mode.

After that I could downgrade to v2019-09-05, and vb2018-12-31 again.

if you follow these instruction (also mentiones above) then it starts to operate again without any other experimenting.

how to check the current status if anything is wrong (with newer bootloader):

if you can select bluetooth module source on the radio without error, but PHM module not responding:
probably a bug or something wrong after the update. turn ignition off for 5 minutes. if not helps, then follow instruction bellow.

if you cannot select bluetooth module source on the radio or you see the error and PHM module not responding (or you see "insert SIM"):
the bluetooth module boots into bootloader. it will boots into bootloader even after power off/on.

so the following steps will always work even if you do not see any activity (more detailed):
- ignition off for at least 5 minutes
- ignition I or II
- wait 10s
- if green LED on PHM does not shine then turn PHM on and wait another 10s, after that ignore the LED status
- send bootloader activation file: "boot_loader.run" or "bootloader.run", if you do not know which firmware was before, then both
- wait 10s
- send firmware file: "btphone_p2v2.btb"
- if not reboots and start operate after 20s then turn ignition off and wait 5 minutes

all files have to be send properly. if any file transfer fails then start from the begining and just skip sending already sent files.

any other experiment only innrease the time between some of these steps.

if bootloader is activated then it will boots into it until the valid firmware is uploaded.

and if everything works as it should be:
- send bootloader file: "bootloader_p2v2.btb" (firmwares after 2019-12-01) or "boot_loader.btb" (firmwares older than 2019-12-01) to update the bootloader.
- you have to see "BTLDR OK" on dashboard for 20s (if PHM main screen is displayed)

This looks fantastic.
I have the HU803 without the phone module, do you do a version of this that works with it? Is it easy to fit the phone module?
The module I currently have does not support ff/rew, caller ID, or text on the display, which I would really like.
Thanks

i also have an "in-box" version. but it does not have an echo canceling so if radio volume is higher (during the call) then the other side hears itself. it is mainly focused to audio stream and the hands-free feature is not the best.
you can also try GROM or some others. devices which are connected only on MELBUS is not problem to buy.

my features (maybe others doe not have some):
- if proper radio source is not selected then the voice is not streamed into the radio (keeps in cellphone)
- if you select the proper radio source during the call then it is automaticaly forwarded to radio
- if the radio source is changed to different during the call then voice is automatically forwarded bact to cellphone.
- call: accept by "next" button, rejected/hang up by "previous" button (if proper radio source selected)
- supported radio sources: CD-CHANGER, MD-CHANGER (HU-x0x) with track info, SAT (HU-x5x) with track info

I would like to purchase one of these for my 2004 S80.

Is there any for sale as clicking on the links in the first post don't yield any listing of the product.

Is there a new distributor ???
