Overall mileage/condition.
Tires match? Apparent age of battery. Drives straight and true? Shifts smoothly if automatic. Smell OK? Depending on mileage: suspension (shock/strut) servicing, Service history which includes mention of timing belt change, oil changes, coolant change, bevel gear lube service, parking brake servicing, PCV servicing, transmission fluid refreshment if automatic.... |

See below thread to read about the ongoing saga with my XC70.
Since posting this thread I've had to do the top mounts and also the drivers power seat has stopped working. It's one thing after another with it, but It's still a lovely car to drive. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=301192

My thoughts, some of which are based on 12 years ownership of a 2006 XC70 D5 Geartronic….
Water ingress to the CEM (central electronic module) which causes a variety of weird electrical issues. Front to rear prop shaft fails at front CV joint (due to grease baking as a result of proximity to catalytic convertor) and rear CV joint can partially seize. UEM (upper electronic module) in rear view mirror – no auto dim and or remote central locking not working. Check both rear Nivomat shock absorbers are dry (not leaking). If geartronic (auto) check the box shifts smoothly both cold and hot – and if no evidence of fluid change budget for one. If manual check for noise/rattle from dual mass flywheel. ‘Alarm Service Required’ on dash indicates faulty alarm module (caused by failure of internal battery within the module) |

Not necessarily - a faulty CEM usually manifests in multiple random electrical quirks.
I think yours may need a calibration of the windows via the BCM using vida. However, this might be worth trying first - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZs0uURnEN8&vl=ru |
