Default Exhaust clamp options

2009 V70 D5 R Design - Twin pipe exhaust

I have two broken clamps which appear to be the originals and which were welded to the pipe. Local garage want to replace the whole system (&#128563 but there must be repair clamps or similar. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the correct ones please? Pic of one of the broken clamps, the other is ahead of the n/s rear wheel.

I have a local exhaust welding specialist, it would take someone with the correct skills very little time to fabricate and weld on a new one.

I assume the exhaust is not blowing?

but from the looks of it, it looks quite corroded possibly a new exhaust will be required soon, I often find when things like this start to slowly go wrong making do will get you so far then you will need to bite the bullet and replace.

If it was me I would just get a good specialist welder to sort it.

I suspect the problem may revolve around the word clamp because you are actually referring to the hanger on the exhaust. A clamp is a separate device which holds two sections of the exhaust pipe together. As it happens, if you wanted to avoid welding you could use a clamp to fix a hanger made out of a bent rod to the pipe in the preferred place.

Personally I'd scrap the exhaust and have a new one made to measure in stainless steel by a franchise firm and then you'd never have to change it again.

why the repair clamp is only£8 sounds excessve to spend £400 when all it needs is a clamp on repair

Because the system is rusting away and might not last much longer?

Or it may last a good few years yet, the support pieces are usually the first to fail, they are available for the V70 ph3 here:

Measure the diameter of the pipe to check whether you need 50mm or 60mm.
