Welcome to this Forum.

"1800" is insufficient info to give help. Instruments are different from 1800 to 1800E, but all instruments have a bracket and thumbscrew securing them to Dashboard. I suggest checking sensor before replacing Gauge. If older style with capillary tubes, these must be handled with caution...!

"fuse 9" suggests an 1800E (and I'm referencing this Wiring Diagram for an E here: http://www.sw-em.com/1800E%20Wiring%20Diagram.jpg ) Clock And E-Flasher Switch are indeed supposed to be powered by Violet wire at Fuse 9 Battery Power. This wire may have gotten "creatively relocated"...

"Brown wire?" that is Ignition Power...I cant confirm this info...where did it come from ...we're clearly not on the same page...don't take this wrong, but you must give better detail of year and model of vehicle before I can give usable help.

Good Hunting
