Default light steering issue

Hi folks, one more for you, prior to collecting the car i had them sort out the power steering pump due to it leaking, looks like theyve put on another one, th issue i have is, say i pull out of my drive, 90º left turn so the steering is on full lock, what happens is, its like the lighter steering kicks in, then off then, on again then off, it does this whilst im turning slowly, i know it has lighter steering when slower driving but its as though it doesnt know what its doing or when it should be lighter, does that make sense? any ideas? i am sure it wasnt like that when i test drove it....

When you say lighter does it feel like the steering wheel is moving slightly?

If so sounds like a steering rack issue and there are lots of threads about it.

No chap, light as it very easy to turn the wheels, the faster the car goes the stiffer the steering becomes, its that feature that appears to be playing up
