Well, I duly downloaded the Update (Windows version) onto an empty, previously formatted Memory Stick.

The download was virtually instantaneous! I noted the file size is not too big at about 2.3MB and is called:

Sensus_Update_SPA_Voice_Control.exe

I then stuck the Memory Stick containing this file (and only this file) into the USB slot (the one that's under the lid on the tunnel) with the engine already switched on and with the Sensus screen live.

Nothing seemed to happen at all. No screen messages appeared.

I waited quite a few minutes. Still nothing.

How am I supposed to know whether I've done this update satisfactorily or not?

you need the run the .exe file on your windows machine, then it will download the voice control update file which you save on your USB

I think the procedure is explained on the Volvo support website.

This is not possible for the voice control I am afraid. Only system updates, map updates and app updates can be done OTA.

When you say System updates you mean the ones that can also be done by the Volvo Dealer?
What could system updated include? Never seen one appear..

The system updates OTA are not the updates, which can be performed only by the dealer.
The updates OTA are for the Sensus performance, visual changes and adding some new apps. From what I heard a new system update is coming by the end of the month 🙂
