Default Any 3.2 XC70 drivers out there?

Just bought one of these for my mother, who was adamant she did not want a diesel. Japanese import with mph speedo and software changed over to UK spec. Quite pleased with it.

Just wondered if anyone else has a 3.2 and what their thoughts were?

It's not a quick car, but it hums along in quite a pleasant manner and seems to suit the XC70's softer nature.

Out of passing interest, can it display speed in kph for use in Europe? I know that most American cars with speedos in mph don't but perhaps the Japanese cars do.

I’d have to have a fiddle to see, one little thing I’ve still to get sorted is that while the outside of the speedo dial is in mph the odometer is still in kph, which I think is a little software change that was missed initially. The screen in the tacho is all in mpg, average mph etc.

Currently in negotiation with a dealer regarding a 3.2, from what I can gather they are pretty reliable engines but a bit revvy and thirsty, the independent garage that I use described the engine as mint but warned about the gearbox, make sure it's had an oil change as Volvo claim it's sealed for life, it would appear others take a different view. £4k if gearbox breaks.

Judging my the limited response there would appear to be very few 3.2 drivers? Just finished negotiating with the dealer, picking my 3.2 up next Saturday, it drives very nice and has a very relaxed feel about it, really looking forward to the drive home, I'll report back soon.

I think there are a lot more of them in North America where diesel engines have never been of much interest for cars.

Well picked up the new car from Edinburgh yesterday, great run home however when fully warmed up discovered a significant whine from the engine, only heard at low speeds. A bit a research on the web suggested switching off the AC, the noise disappeared. I assume I have a bearing problem with my AC compressor ( or maybe clutch), anyone have any thoughts on replacement costs?
Regards,
Jeff.

I'm sure I've seen an XC70 a couple of times in the multi-story car-park at work with a T6 badge on it.

It's on an 08 plate, so probably one of these:

Was it possibly an import ? (it was RHD)
