Default 15/16/17” Winter/Snow tyres -with/without Alloys (buy/loan?)

Hi - haven’t posted for a very long time (had 3xVolvos off the road for 2yrs and time to get back)....

I’m looking at options for taking one of my 960s to Mecca(Volvo, Sweden) in November which looks like including an ultimate road trip to a final destination of up as Kiruna(Ice Hotel).

Just wondering if on an off chance anyone in the Community has paid out for wheels/tyres that are sitting idle and would consider selling/loaning/hiring for a couple of weeks.

Need to be able to To fit a 1996 960, so 850, V70 is also an option...

Anything would be good..

ideas...???

Just stick a decent set of all seasons on it and run them all year round- I had Quatracs on an old V70 T5 and it coped remarkably well with snow, like real snow and yet were perfectly fine in the summer months too. If things get so bad that good all seasons can't cope, you're probably looking at chains or studded tyres.

All season are are compromise, not as good as winter tyres when its cold, not as good as summer tyres when its warm.
In Scandinavia you have to have full winter tyres with the snowflake symbol.
There are some sets on ebay, and the only extra cost is the changeover, as when you are using your winter tyres, you are not wearing out the summer ones. So they last twice as long.

A very sweeping statement. A set of good all seasons with be better in summer and winter than a set of budget winters and a set of budget summers. Full winters are mandatory in Sweden from 1st of December to 31st of March with a minimum tread depth of 3mm. I believe.

Michelin cross climates are fantastic and winter approved so can be used without issue where legally required.

None as good as full winter tyres, although the michelin came close, none as good as summer tyres.
