Do you have access to an OBD-II reader?

If not, I would start by checking for any cracks or loose clips to/from the intercooler and vaccuum pipes and clean turbo pressure control valve.

I've had jerking, loss of power and a lot of black smoke (not enough air, too much fuel) because one of my pipes had split coming from the intercooler (#7: http://i66.tinypic.com/24g50d0.jpg)

Common problem and previous owner had replaced with a cheap pipe: https://i.imgur.com/EvyWm3W.jpg

I'm having the same problem with hesitation. It's worse when the engine is cold. As soon as the temp gauge reaches the normal operating temp then the problem is less pronounced. Only between 1000-2000rpm.

Strangely when the air temperature is below 6 degrees C outside the car doesn't hesitate but I feel it doesn't run at full power.

Any ideas anyone?
