Cheers, I've just ordered it from a Volvo dealer - £5.10 (an expensive piece of foam, might be better to buy some generic foam in future and cut it to shape).

you need to make sure the foam is oil resistant and also that the air can pass through it , some foam does not allow this

how is the K&N filter? would like to hear about your experience compared to a standard paper filter.

The paper filter will do a better job at filtering than a K&N .. And probably give less restriction given the huge area of paper .

I think the oversized one might be a little bit too loud. Does not really suit the Volvo characteristics.
I hear a lot of people say that the standard drop in K&N improves the throttle response a little bit and better torque at lower rpm. not a huge improvement but noticeable. I am a little bit afraid of the TMAP sensor though, which is downstream of the air filter. |
