popped round to Nicholas Fletcher (Volvo Specialists of Somercotes Derbyshire) the other day and was told they no longer do repairs, just car sales and basic servicing these days.

Just in case it saves someone a trip.

very helpfull and fair prices from Protran garage in Brighton (Sussex). Had some bits that needed doing and he done them on the day and it didn't cost a arm and leg. They're also working on a few classics and have a real interest in them next to the regular clients.

My thanks and appreciation go to Adam and the team at Readview garage, in Huncoat nr Accrington, which is 10 miles East of Blackburn.

My 2003 V70 D5 Geartronic developed the typical oil leak from the weep hole between the block and the g/box.

I spoke with Adam (the proprietor at Readview) who quoted me an unbeatable price to replace the core plug and the crank rear seal.

The car was booked in a few days ahead, the work was completed on time and to a high standard.

Error codes were read, and the car was washed prior to collection.

If you need work doing on your elderly Volvo by a team that really care about these old barges, I can thoroughly recommend Readview.

Getting there is no issue - Huncoat has a rail station, 30 minutes travel time from Preston station.

Ran a VIDA test, reset CCM dampers as requested, but also checked the software was up to date and corrected a wonky headlight beam. All for £48, which was the price for just doing the VIDA.
They are a small garage, so best to give them a ring, as they don't respond to emails or website queries very quickly.
There is a McDonalds over the road too, so you can get your brekkie when you have dropped your car off !
