It would certainly explain a lot of things, including the lights which seem to have a life of their own. I'd put that down to an after-market LED set which I've now removed but I still have sudden and/or intermittent bulb failure issues. Oh dear - I had hoped to keep this car for years to come but it's beginning to look like a bit of a disaster.

The corroded wiring loom is not such a big issue, either remove the radiator mounting bolts and lift the radiator a couple of inches to inspect the loom or disconnect the radiator top and bottom hose and remove the radiator completely. Look for bulges and /or signs of rust in the wiring loom were it goes under the radiator, if any signs found unwrap the loom, remove any corroded wires and replace with new, use quality insulating wrap when rewrapping the loom. replace radiator and refill with the correct anti freeze and water mix.

Thanks a lot for that, stevo48 - I may have a pop at it later today but the job-from-Hell on my desk needs attention first. Typical - nice weather for working on the car and I'm welded to a dead laptop!
