I wonder if there is a similar ban in Germany? From what I have read, displaying information about mobile units is not allowed though fixed units are a grey area.

I did a drive from Calais to the Belgian/German border and down to the Nurburgring in May. I used Waze and Senus in parallel.
  • Belgium - Senus warned of the speed cameras along the N9. Waze didn't provide any warnings
  • Germany - Waze provided most of the alerts. Senus was hit and miss (more miss). Speed limits were some times slow to update in small towns

On a side note, I found driving the A roads in Germany really frustrating. The speed limits vary a lot over a short distance so you have to be on your guard e.g. over 700 yards, the speed limit will change from 50 - 70 - 100 and back to 50 (with a camera to keep you on your toes )

Yes there is a similar ban in Germany. With an updated software there will no warnings been shown.

The information for the start of towns is in the map system. The car does not recognise Town signs. Sometimes the Signs get moved when there are new developments and then Sensus does react "late".
And yes the speed information stored in the maps gets updated really slow. I know some roads that have been wrong for years. But this is also true in other countries.
