Default S40 1.8 auto petrol X reg MOT pass

Sailed through MOT with just deteriorating number plate advisory.

Thanks' to the many tips gleaned from this forum. Cheers Folks.

Still left with the dilemma of changing 10 year old timing belt - quotes are the almost the same as the value of the car! Only got 26K on the clock (really) but I guess they deteriorate over age rather than just mileage.

Default 2003 Volvo S40 Petrol 2 litre 36'000 miles.

Saw this on facebook.

Can't be many 36'000 mile S40s left these days.

Lifted the carpet, seems it's mostly dried out, so good news, was apparently just the cold snap that did it.

Shouldn't cost much more than £400 for a genuine Volvo belt kit & filters discounted from FRF, with a new water pump (don't buy that from Volvo, they're a rip off).

Less the labour cost if you do it yourself.

It's the same engine as the Nissan/Renault vans so plenty of cheap mechanics will be able to do that job for you.

Quite unremarkable really but gave the SE a much needed wash today, aside from the different colour bootlid and my quite average paint job on the wing it's not bad for a £200 stop gap car really, although it's borrowing the T4s wheels while that's waiting to get finished which I thinks helps visually.
