whats my volvo 340 GL worth?
i have a 1 owner from new plus me Volvo 340 GL (5 door) in dark grey with all original pin stripes and decals and window stickers, absolutly original even original radio cassette player, done 105,000, the old boy had dimentia and had to give up driving unfortunately hes lost most of the paper work, i have written to him asking for the rest of the paper work and am waiting to hear back,
only thing that has been done to the car is it has been professionally lowered by classic sweed, has 9 months MOT still on the car. i love it to bits and am not selling the car as of yet, but i was just wondering if you guys would know what its worth? |

Hmm not really desirable until there's only a handful left. £250-350 I would think.

I hope you two are joking?
These are very, very reliable and have a multitude of engine conversion options plus they look damn good and are cheap to insure. They are lightweight so with the right engine they are a real sleeper, even the 1.4 has enough go to light up the wheels. 300 series Volvo's are highly sought after by three types of people. Collectors, modifiers and drifters. If it is as good as it sounds and lowered already then it will probably be worth £600 maybe more. If it is a 1.7 it will be more sought after because it will be easier to convert to a Renault F7P or F7R engine. Last edited by 360beast; Aug 28th, 2015 at 16:28. |

As 360beast says, a vastly underrated car nowadays. Ignoring the sporting fraternity it is still a nice car to drive: the comfort of a 240GL (I know - we have both), the access for maintenance and classic car insurance. On some, the lack of power steering can be a handful (in more ways than one!).
The only drawback with a 1;7 - some insurers limit youngster insurance cover to 1.4 litre engines. If viewing to purchase, check known rust areas - sills and on certain colour combinations the upper door trim areas. P |

He will get £1000 - £1500 if not more , Mileage means nothing whatsoever , lack of rust is paramount . These cars will go on and on and never go wrong, need parts or break down .

Are you all trying to get the seller to think it is worthless so you can buy it yourselves?
Absolutely ridiculous the prices that have been said, if it is mint then Clan will be spot on with the price. If it was a 360 it would sell for atleast £1k http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-VOLVO...item3f526b4f96 Last edited by 360beast; Aug 28th, 2015 at 19:40. |

Some people are really out of touch with 300 series prices.... £1000 isn't impossible, but it depends on body condition and it's not a particularly rare model - nice colour though!
