Best Dealer Discounts
Hi forum people do any of you know which main dealer gives the best discounts on new cars without taking the VOC membership discount scheme into consideration?
As mentioned before in another thread my sister-in-laws husband is looking to buy a new S60 D5 SE Sport TIA Andy

Have you looked at brokers like drivethedeal.co.uk? They will usually get you a discount you wouldn't be able to get as a private punter because they buy enough cars to get a fleet discount.
Just had a quick look on their webby and they are offering a faintly staggering £5017.62 off the price of a 2008 D5 SE Sport and that's a brand new car, not pre-registered. I guess you could probably get a dealer to beat that if they've got the right incentives in place but you're going to have to haggle like hell! Cheers, John |

I'd recommend www.drivethedeal.com. Their discounts are actually with main dealers, rather than brokering the cars for you and the cars are brand new unregistered, as if you bought from the dealer himself. You pay the main dealer on delivery of your car (free in England I believe), so there's not too much risk of money going missing with a broker.
In the 7/8 years I've known them, I haven't known anyone beat them on price. There is, of course, the adage that if one dealer can offer the kind of discount John's talking about, so should others... PS

did a costing on the Volvo site on a V50 D5 R design se sport and did the same on drivethedeal.com - saving was £4582 (cheaper than some of the second hand ones on Volvo select used cars!)
