Default Help identify this broken part please

Can anyone help me identify the green box in the first photo please? I have removed it from the offside rear well below the boot space. The reason for removing it is because the cable that inserts into it is broken.I believe the cable to be an aerial cable and am guessing the green box to be a signal amplifier. Can a new fitting be swaged onto the cable or can the cable be replaced?
Any help gratefully received.
Discovered this lot today while fitting a towbar.

Thanks for that,is this boosting all signals do you know as i still seem to be getting decent FM. Its the plug that goes into the booster that appears to be broken rather than the booster its self.

Cheers for that,so if i understand correctly the green box is the amplifier for the diversity aerial, hopefully that is seperate from the aerial built into the window.
