What is wrong with supermarket fuel? - it is produced to exactly the same EN590 standard as branded fuel, and in the same refineries as the branded fuels.

I have always used it in my cars and never had a fuel issue or any issue that could be ascribed to fuel.

TBH, I don't know! But the dealer told me and I didn't want to take the chance. Logic tells me that it should be fine as there is always lots of demand for it whenever I drive past but it seems that all of us are a bit spooked by fuel. Reminds me of the snake oil claims of those additives from yesteryear.

I just seem to recall that whenever there is a story (once or twice a year, so not that common) of tanker bulk delivery mistakes at filling stations, it seems to be a supermarket not a branded filling station.

What a hideous looking dash. Would expect something a bit more premium and modern looking on a brand new jag. Looks more mazda.

Yeah it looks a bit cheap, but people pay for the brand .
Probably there is not enough space for the turtle to appear there and that is why we can't see it . lol

Hello Mr M -

It's a bit like "What's wrong with Tesco value sausages compared to their Finest ?"

They're both approved for human consumption - both go on the same lorry to the store.

But i know which i'd rather have for the marginal difference - and believe me i can taste the difference !

The analogy doesn't really work however if Tesco Value and Finest sausages were both made with the same ingredients in the same factory using the same recipe but were marketed with different labels people would still prefer the Finest over the Value - this test has been undertaken blind many, many times and proved 100% accurate.

I suggest that marketing is the difference again

V-Power has a different "recipe" - it isn't exactly the same stuff.

So my awesome analogy stands.

V Power is most certainly different around 5% better mpg and c5%-10% more expensive.
