Nothing else is realistically possible within the parameters of the current electoral system. Which is also why that will never change either. Both main parties are pretty much assured possession of the ball every 10 to 15 years, regardless of what they do or have failed to do previously.

Same for the folks across the pond who are now faced with the same sad Hobson's choice of the incapable vs the incompetent.

For the first time since I became eligible to vote, I'm seriously considering not doing so. I feel that the only message which I can contribute to is the disaffection of the electorate with all parties, via the turnout figures.

Tesla have pulled the entry level, $25,000 Model 2 project now focusing on the self driving taxi.

Anyone looking for a cheap Tesla will have to look elsewhere.

I think Starmer will want to go back to 2030 but he'll be blocked by the unions and others.

Starmer will do whatever Tax Dodge Rayner tells him to do.

I'm thinking petrol hybrid or fully electric, but I'm not 100% sure. There's not really many hybrid's about that are reasonably priced. Toyota Prius for example... I'm unsure of them. I'm not sure if I like the looks. However, I do like the idea of not having range anxiety. In the same breath, I like the idea of not having much to service in having an EV. No oil changes, no cam belt or EGR valves to name but a few.
The Auris or Corolla is the same technically. 2nd hand values on Corolla are very strong though.

Whilst I'm still towing a caravan I need to stay with diesel. Don't fancy going more modern than my V70 P3 though, although a 330D might tempt me one day.

Friends got a Corolla, very nice, very nice indeed. Go for the 2.0 ltr variant though.

I appreciate your quoting 'lord' Ashcroft and the journals associated 'til recently with the feuding remnants of the disintegrating Barclay Family.... all... ALL tax dodgers on an epic scale... certainly in relation to the less than £1500 that Rayner is being judged on having possibly 'dodged'.... then 'lord' Lebedev... a Russian.... a billionaire russian ennobled by Johnson and owner of The Independant. In fairness the estimable journalist writing in The Spectator, Kate Balls is often seen taking a very equitable stand on TV political programs and has her work published in The Guardian and in other journals of the centre and of a leftish persuasion.

I would raise you a recent piece from The Guardian.... https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...-class-shaming
