Default Tuning with aftermarket LPG

I had an offer on chipping my 02 petrol xc70 with a plug in box, however i wondered how this would work with the lpg system. Would the tuning only work when on petrol, or does the lpg ecu see all and would then work in conjunction ?
Your thoughts please.

You'll need to get the LPG remapped as well - the remap will only affect the petrol side of the fuel system.

What they do is use a laptop to look at the figures produced by the petrol fuel map and match them in the LPG map, its usually done while you're driving along, switching between the fuels. The 'interesting' bit is when you have to hold WOT to fine tune it on LPG - you need a long empty road

Well worth doing though - my V70R seems to run better on LPG.

BTW I'd be wary of plug in boxes - they tend to work by fooling the ECU and aren't a good idea. Have a word with HLM - he can do an exchange ECU for £150 ish which has a good map.

Re mapping and LPG will work fine. The LPG might need a little tweak and increase in flow depending how much extra power and how it is being made. Results with plug in boxes are a little hit and miss
