Hi Sabink
I swapped the passenger side door (with window) on my 2001 C70 convertible. No problems with alignment, but maybe I was just lucky. Are you doing this on a Coupe or a Convertible? (Not that I know what difference that would make). Are the doors and windows the same on Coupe or Convertible? They seem the same to me, but I haven't relied on that opinion. HTH Steve

Hi Sabink
It's easy to swap if alignment is not involved. 2 man job really because the door is heavy and you don't want to bash your paintwork. I would probably do it myself and see how it goes. If they don't know what they are doing and alignment does turn out be involved, you will have given away £80 and may not be able to get the result you want. If you do decide to pay them, talk the alignment through with themin advance, so it is clear whether are going to guarantee that or if they are just going to swap the doors. HTH Steve

Swapping the door is straightforward, undo the check strap, undo the hinges, undo the wiring loom and the door is off. Refitting is a reversal of the above.
Even with a mate the safest way to remove and replace is to open the door and set up a beer crate or whatever underneath the door to support it's weight. Adjust the height with packers and cover the beer crate in old carpet to protect the bottom edge of the door. This way the door is always under control. As far as adjusting the glass, if needed, I would not entrust it to any old mechanic. I would download the workshop manual and follow the adjustment procedure. It can be very fiddly, but straightforward. Doing it yourself, you will set the standard of the finished job and spend the time needed to get it right without watching the clock. A paid mechanic will be watching the bill, whether he has quoted a fixed price or on an hourly rate.
