Default Door Handles Refurbing (How)?

Hi all,
Has anyone refurbed their door handles on their 850's? If so, how did you do it?
I don't really want to go the painted V70 route.

Many thanks in advance,

...Guy

If the handles are still black, clean them thoroughly first, then wipe them over with meths and treat with Gtechniq C4 trim restorer. They will be like new and last 18 months - two years. The C4 is not cheap, about £25 for 25ml bottle, but would be enough to do all the black trim on the whole car twice.

If the handles have faded to light grey/white. Rub them down with some 1200grit wet and dry use it wet with a little drop of fairy liquid in the water, this will get rid of the sun damaged plastic - it will come off like a grey scum - and then continue as above. Afterwards faded white/grey handles will be jet black.

Any black plastic exterior trim can be treated in this way. The attachment shows my V40 with all black trim treated with C4 - 18 months after being done.
