Couldn't spot mud flaps or wheel trim rings and the fur flex on the for aperture is frayed. Spending this much it has to be virtually faultless

Maybe the old guy who sold it to them convinced them how rare and valuable it is. ;-)
The Amazon will probably be dragged up in value as the P1800s keep going up. It's good that they are going up a bit to make it financially viable for some owners who need that justification to spend money on them if need be. A colleague has been advised by his accountant that he needs to spend some money and was advised that he should buy a classic car. |

Oh, and those pressed ally reflective plates are possibly period correct for a G plate, as it was around this time that they were first introduced. Quite a few very late Amazons were fitted with this style of number plates when new. *The 1800 coupe used 4.5J wheels too, but apparently they are different to the estate ones.

I think I did see this car for sale (by a private seller about a month ago) and was going to buy it but was told I missed out by about 15 mins. It was up for 2500. May have been another but does look very much like it. If it is, then it is certainly a healthy mark up lol.

I gave it a quick look only and decided the poor chrome and odd paint colours would take it from 13k to 16k if sorted.Second look, yes it is too much in its present condition.

For that money? Get three Amazons, a 2 door, a 4 door and a wagon. Two nice ones and one a bit scruffy for a resto.

It wasn't universal at that stage - often depended on the first owner or the dealership as to which style would be fitted. That yours has black background plates doesn't mean that this one definitely did too.
