Unhappy Turn Indicators On / Alarm LED On

1995 850 sedan that has intermittent electrical fault resulting in both turn indicators hard ON, Alarm LED ON, and Temp Gauge reading COLD. This occurs sporadically and seems to reset when engine turned off. Can be driving along, with everything working OK, suddenly both turn indicators (including all turn lamps) light, Alarm LED hard RED, temp gauge drops from hot to cold.
Maybe a dodgy relay? Any thoughts anyone, cheers.

Talking Fixed !

OK so after reading a number of forums I decided it must have something to do with the Alarm/Immobiliser. I went looking for the often quoted 210/211 relay mounted beneath the fuse box, accessible under the drivers side dash, only to find Volvo Australia have installed a different alarm that connects to the 210/211 socket via a dodgy perspex guide and a number of spade connectors. This unit has a pair of wires heading off to a keyed switch in the glove box. Me thinks it may have been a requirement that the immobiliser could be deactivated via the key switch in the event of a fault etc.
Anyway, I made up a jumper with spade connectors to connect the 50E-50F connectors of the 210 relay socket, removed the existing alarm/immobiliser, installed the jumper and now everything works as it should. I haven't pulled the Volvo aftermarket alarm/immobiliser to pieces but there was a pretty good schematic in the glove box showing a couple of relays and the fault condition I described all related to one of the relays. Happy to PM the schematic to anyone who wants/needs. All in all a satisfying conclusion. Cheers.

Thanks for the follow up and posting your cure, when you get no answers to your post you feel no one cares - it usually means no one has an answer and everyone is sitting back waiting for that sage advice.

Glad you got it sorted

I get so much from this (and other) forums it only seems fair to post my solution. Hope my experience helps others to isolate and have the courage to solve a similar problem. The next best thing to driving the Volvo, is reading how others are keeping theirs on the road. Cheers
