Only last week I had to make a quick decision as a set of lights changed from green to Amber just as I approached the stop line.

I went through and was more than surprised to see there cars follow me through two of which must have crossed on red.

If I am first at a set of lights on red I now look each way to make sure that no one is jumping a red.

I turned right on a red light in front of a police car a couple of weeks ago. He did nothing.

I was in America

Since I retired I walk a lot more than I used to, so I get to witness a lot of this , what I've found is , zebras , drivers are really good and stop if they see you waiting , pelicans etc , you have to wait for traffic to come to a stop , because it's 50 50 if they do , so many just drive merrily through and junctions, most times a couple drive through after the lights are red

Im glad im sat in my nice safe volvo driving through Leeds every day.
Red lights don`t exist for most drivers , one way streets "im only going one way guv" and moving from lane 1 to 3 without signaling only the obligatory 2 finger wave out of the window at the indignant horns from other law abiding drivers.

I read this yesterday and thought 'that's odd, never seen this'. I then went to pick up my wife from the centre of Newcastle around 7pm. Picked her up and came to some lights, on red. I stopped and three taxis went around me and through the lights. I double checked, they were definitely red and other cars remained behind me. Never seen this so blatantly before.

Yep it seems a lot of drivers in the NE are Red/Green colourblind.

The A19/A184 junction (Testos Roundabout) is a favourite every morning & evening. The number of times I go to cross the roundabout on Green only to have cars on the A19 headed North or South pas in front of me is so common now I just expect it.

Andy, that must be terrifying. It's a big roundabout, lots of cars and for some to be there when they should not would be scary. At least you have the experience to look out for it now but for others it could be awful.

I run red lights most days as I know the police will not do anything about it although I do slow down for them.

I'm sure the judge will be appreciative of the fact that you 'slow down' when you T-bone a car with kids in it. Idiot
