We do although I wish we didn't. Most of what is broadcast is so cute I find it difficult to watch, I find the only relief is BBC channel four, TV 5, and PBS. Could quite happily do without though. I find the TV licence an obscenity, why should I fork out to send three dozen reporters to the Olympics, never mind the endless mind numbing crap on BBC 1 & 2.

Yes indeed, from 'Human Touch' in the early 90s. Great song. At that point we'd got to 4 channels in the UK, and channel 5 came in the late 90s.

In answer to the original question, we have two TV sets, main living room one gets perhaps a 1 - 2 hours use a day but BBC radio I find I listen to almost constantly and much prefer. That said, you choose what to watch on TV and there are some great programmes. Very rarely watch live TV anymore, as per other posters, and use 'on demand' or streaming services more often.

As for Top Gear etc. iPlayer on a decent mobile device with headphones on the train really helps pass a dull commute when not reading the paper etc. so I'm all for it.
