Default 2015 XC60 Paint issues

I have a used 2015 XC60 with black metallic paint. It looks like the lacquer is cracking and peeling all over the car, doors, front bumper, roof etc.

Does anyone know what is causing this and how it can be resolved? The car is under Selekt warranty so can I claim under than or original paint warranty?

Thanks in advance.

Looking at the Warranty I don't think paintwork is included.

How long have you had the car ? I'd go back to the selling dealer anyway & ask the question, you never know it may have been a manufacturing fault from new.

Mine's a 2015 car but in Blue & apart from stone chips & parking dings it polishes up as good as new.

Do you use any specific cleaners that may be the cause of the issue ?

I would say it is almost certain to have had a poor repaint at some stage in it's short life for this to occur .... there must be signs somewhere if you look closely ...

I've only just bought it so haven't cleaned it yet. The pealing and cracking is all over the car in different places so doesn't look like it has come from repainting after a dent.

Maybe a type of coating has been applied to prepare the paintwork ready for sale, to give that showroom shine and its this that is peeling.

i was talking about a complete repaint , someone has probably had some damage , repainted it as cheaply as possible and dumped it on you . The car will never be the same , i would reject it and get another car

THIS!!

I wouldn’t even wash it: might ‘make things worse’ or give them an excuse to wriggle!
I would take it directly there. Was it not noticeable when you went to buy it?

Mine is the same year and has black metallic paint; no sign of peeling or any other paint failure anywhere.

Does paying extra for a 'Selekt' vehicle from a Volvo dealer really mean anything? The massively-overpriced example that I viewed had obvious wheel kerb damage.
