Not really. I just booked mine. Recently dealer serviced so don’t expect any issues. I don’t have a problem saying no if they try the hard sell.

I maintain my car extremely well yet I've never had either a Halfords or Kwik-fit discounted MOT without a failure of some sort or other.
When I pay the standard price at my local independent MOT centre, I pass every time. I'm not a great believer in coincidence.

Avoid them and Kwik-fit at all costs, and never let a lady go there as they will scare and fleece them.

My last car passed three MOTs at a Kwik Fit with no up-selling attempts. I know they don't have a great reputation but have to say no complaints.

It's unlikely that an MOT tester would risk his certification (and livelihood) by failing vehicles on invented faults. Halfords know that they'll probably get the work IF the car does fail... seems like a sensible business arrangement.

Seems you got lucky for you got one of those in the past few days as that offer finished early last week and the vouchers are being sent back to head office if they have any left.
