does anyone have an '89 740 dashboard lighting dimmer switch, if so what price would you ask?

I think you can get dimmers from car accessory shops, they are solid state and far more reliable compared to the rheostat. When I had a 240 I must have gone through 3 or 4 dimmers; mind you they were all 2nd hand

oops, firgot i had started this thread!!!

thanks for the comments, I heard they wernt too good Greg! i beleive that the difference between the rheostats is that they are for the two different clock set manufacturers. ours has, i beleive, a VDO guage set, if that will help you NI_Volvo_Nut, but the car is hopefully off the road for a while now, giving me a bit of time to sort it before I learn to drive in Augist 2011.

could you also take a look at the list that i have put up http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=95177
as I have a load of other things that i would like to find, and you might be able to help.

20 months is a long time to reply to a thread, never mind. I don't have any of the '92 960 estate car left I was breaking except all the relays, and computer, and the extra seats from my current '96 estate
