My 2 cents...
Enquired at my local stealer (Parkside Orpington) for aftermarket dealer fit front park assist on my 2005 D5 SE. Was quoted, big gulp, best part of £900...!!! Didn't take long to decide that this couldn't be justified so did some research on other options. In the end bought a set of standard (they do fancier displays etc as well) Dolphin Ultrasonic sensors from www.parkingsensors.co.uk and had them fitted but the website recommended chap for my area. All in £150. The sensors are pretty discrete and not that noticeable. Operation is a manual switch located below the lighting cluster at around knee level. Had some teething trouble with the speaker but the guy was more than happy to come out and change it for me free of charge. Otherwise works as you'd expect. Looked into the magnetic strip system but as far as I could deduce Ultrasonic still appears to be the preferred dealer route so hence why we went down that route. I did consider |
