AirCon thermistor?
I pulled out what I thought was a 'bit of fluff' from a tiny grill on the console, (just above the driver side temperature setting)....only to find a glass bead coming out too with a couple of fine wires attached, one has broken off... .looks like a sensor/thermistor....since then the aircon is acting very erratically so I assume it's connected to that....
Q1. What is it? Q2. Where can I get one? Q3. How do I get access!! thanks

It is as you guessed the cabin temperature thermistor
If broken or missing, the climate control cannot determine the cabin air temperature Available at local electronics stores, 10kOhm PTC I think, but google and you will find the specs. Remove climate control unit, dismantle, replace, reassemble, refit. You are not the first to have broken it....

If you are doing it yourself make sure that you disconnect the battery before you remove the climate control unit or you will get the air bag warning light which can't be reset without the correct tool.
