Default xc90 power folding mirror problem

Hi all

Had my xc90 for a few weeks now and there is the odd little problem to fix with the car but today another was added to the list! great!!

My power folding mirrors are not working in tandem.

Its weird because i started up the car in the morning, pressed the button to open them which worked and they worked together at the same time to the 'out' position.

I went to the shop folded them in as it is a very narrow rd where i parked and then on coming back and starting up, i pressed the button and the driver window opened but the passenger one didnt! :S

so now everytime i click the button, one is closing and one is opening, driving me mad!!!!

i dont know wether one or the other is sticking but the motors are moving and it is working but just not at the same time.

has anyone had this problem or can anyone give me any tips on getting them back working together!

please help!!!!

thanks in advance.. please help a girl out!

my old s80 had this problem, used to make me laugh ! you fix it by removing fuses, on my s80 they were in the fuse board near the drivers door hinge, ( i'm sure some one more familiar with the xc will put you on the right track) but what you do is remove the fuse for the right mirror, then operate the retract button, this puts them both in the same position , you then remove the master fuse for both mirrors, ( to clear the memory) then replace the fuses, I found that making a deliberate act of pressing the button, rather than a quick flick, if you see what I mean, stopped it happening again

Thanks so much for your advice!

i am going to be a right pain in the back side but you know you mentioned about the fuse for the mirror, on looking at the manual to find what fuse it is there is no fuse specifically for power folding mirrors...

Would the function be under the door module or is it the infotainment one?

if anyone could help me on this i would be sooo greatful!!

thanks again for taking the time to read this

The fuses you need are the ones for the Passenger Door Module (PDM) & Drivers Door Module (DDM). Strange quirk of the P2 electrics is that occasionally the mirror will go out of sync. Dropping the fuses out resets the modules.

Should be the fuse box in the end of the dashboard - drivers side,
accessible when you open the door.

On my 2008 XC90, it's fuse No. 5 ( 25A ) for the passenger side door control module,
and Fuse No.6 ( 25A ) for the driver side door control module.

My early T6 has done this a couple of times....I just take out one of the mirror fuses with ignition off, then turn on and press the fold/unfold button to re-sync them, then turn off and put the fuse back in.

No dramas

Welcome to mirror club.

Ok problem is only in small 2 wires connector when you open the mirror.
Its small level to remove (which one will brake a part 100%) when moving.

Pull out 2 small wires clean this connections both male and female and problem is solved. I will try to found some photos I made it if I remember good.

Process how to remove mirror is simple. Tested and worked.
