V70 Conversion
Just thinking about having my 2001 V70 converted to LPG. I converted my old 740 to LPG, but that was in the days of simple mixer technology. These days regulations seem to have tightened and technology moved on; in practice, I guess, an approved installer is needed.
From the drivelpg website, the nearest places to me are BPV in Slough, who fit BRC, Prinz and Romano systems, LPG Future in Finchampstead who fit Mint, Romano and Ultragas systems, or Ecotec in West Drayton, who fit Romano, or BRC. However, Ecotec's own website also lists Stag and their own Ecotec systems www.ecotecautogas.com/lpg-conversion-cost. Does anyone know anything about this Ecotec system? Of all those systems, which would be the best for me to do my own routine servicing and maintenance on? And do I need a valve saver kit?

Both BRC and Prins are limited on installers who can service the electronics.
Romano is not bad but not a common system these days. Ultragas is very cheaply made in Turkey and I often see them with failed components. Stag ecu is good but is often combined with cheap parts and often not installed well. Ecotech are done in a day jobs and I have seen some iffy work from them even the photos on their website. The other two are longer established but I have never seen any of their conversions |

Thanks for that. I'm thinking of either Romano or BRC, but I'll do a bit more research first. Is Mint any good?
One thing I've noticed - whereas there were 6 forecourts that sold LPG local to me three years ago, four have stopped selling it - all of them BP stations, including the motorway services. Is the stuff becoming harder to find nationally, or is that just a local blip?

Mint are the uk distributor for Romano. I think the system branded mint is basically ultragas unless things have changed
