In the mean time sliding the seat slightly forward helps.
Ok, thanks for the info. I've got this issue and it's been driving me mad. It's definitely the seat (rear driver's side) as I got one of the kids to get in the back and track it down. When they sit in the seat it goes away but comes back again after a couple of journeys.

What's a TJ?

I need to get this sorted!!!

I had the same issue, dealer fixed it with modified parts, there is a TJ for dealers to sort this out,

TJ - Technical Journal
It's a document that Volvo publish to their dealer network that explains a problem and how to fix it.

I've had the "fix" previously, but I was back to WD40 a few months later.

Now I think about it it's been fine for going on 12 months now, but with that said it's not done anything like the miles it normally would since the end of March.
