Default Rear wheel bearing

I have a 2005 Exec. Drone coming from NSR especially at 50mph which fits the symptoms of rear wheel bearing dying. I have a spare but do not have a hydraulic press or puller to get the drive shaft out of the hub and gather it is a pig. My thought was that it wouldn't harm to pull the whole shaft/hub as one and replace with new to spare hours of frustration.

Three questions arise:

1)Do the CV joints on shaft 30651528 fit through the hub carrier?
2) Does the driveshaft come out reasonably easily ie pry bar out?
3) Has anyone used the J&R replacements advertised on eBay? Do they last okay?

All advice welcomed.

Thanks

Nick

It does not have to be a pig. The shaft SHOULD just slide out from the bearing - you may be lucky. Remove the driveshaft bolt and try to push the shaft back.

1) No, you have to undo the lower arms and swing the stub axle up
2) Yes
3) Not used them myself but have heard good things about them

Thanks. I have already tried removing the wheel centre, slackening the shaft retaining bolt and giving it a good whack or two. It didn't budge so I know it isn't going to slide out like the front ones do. I left it soaking with oil in the hope it might assist.

So if my plan to pull the whole shaft won't work is there a recommendation for a puller that is likely to work?

Cheers

Nick

If the shaft is siezed in the hub, the best plan is the remove the whole hub and shaft together and then press out the shaft using a shop press.
