I’m back again... electric seat won’t function
Sad to say I’m back again with another problem, my electric driver seat in my 2008 xc90 has decided to stop working.
The pre settings on the side of the seat 1,2,3 still work to change the mirror positions so it’s just the seat.. does anyone have any ideas on what it could be. |

Are all seat motors not working? (seat fore-aft, up-down, back tilt)
If so, check the fuses

That didn't really answer my question.
Anyway, check fuses, check motor connectors, check connectors to seat control unit on drivers seat Diagnose with VIDA by individually controlling the seat motors and checking the switches

Hey thanks for your reply so I just checked the fuses and there fine..
So I put the key in and tried the seat and it worked. Took the key out and then back in and it didn’t work. So waited and checked all wires and connectors under the seat everything feels solid so put key back in and it worked... Took the key out and then back in to try it again and it didn’t work! So waited a minute and tried again and nothing so then took the key and waited 5 minutes and it worked.. WEIRD I know but I’m guessing if I try it now it won’t work has anyone come across this before? |

It's a great step forward when you can reliably reproduce an intermittent fault
You will quickly see which piece of the puzzle is not working properly

What was the result of this? My driver’s seat has been failing intermittently for a while too. Also the dashcam that piggy-backs onto the same fuse. Sometimes neither work, sometimes only the dashcam works. Fuse appears fine.
