Default starting problem

My C30 2.0d r design is now up to 155000 and as developed a starting problem. It runs fine, no power loss 50 mpg no rattles etc and engine runs smooth. Upto this present time it eventually starts but its getting that I cant trust it. I read it could be the throttle body but I am open to suggestions. Could it be air in the fuel system?

I was worried about the above problem and took it to Preston Volvo who put on the diagnostic machine. After finding nothing wrong the mechanic took me look at the car in the garage and said that he had tested the vacuum on the butterfly valve near the front intake and said from the gunge he cleaned off thought it could be sticking. He said just take a screw driver and if it doent start undo the pipe and check its not sticking, it never did it again so I presume that was the problem. I have updated this just in case some else has the same issues, engine 2.0 diesel and now on 175 000miles. I have since sold the car and bought a 2002 v70 D5
