Default MY13 V40 - Wipers won't turn off even when car isn't running

My partner was on her way to work this morning when the wipers (auto wipers) turned on without any prompting and a message popped up on the dash saying "Auto Stop/Start Service Required". She tried to turn them off as it wasn't raining, but they just carried on at full speed.

I told her to pull over and turn the engine off and lock the car, to see if this would stop them - it didn't.

Anyway, she carried on for 5 mins to her workplace, where they finally started to slow down and then stopped.

She removed the wiper fuse for 5 mins to see if it would reset them - it didn't and now the wipers won't turn on at all.

Unfortunately she didn't check to see if the fuse had blown when she popped it back in.

Has anyone else had this problem before and if so, what was the cause behind it?

Cheers!

I've just experienced the exact same scenario that Woody-3 discussed above. Did you get you find a root cause and manage to repair it? Has anyone else seen this behaviour?

Cheers!

Default Two year bump

I know this is a two year bump but I also have a wife with the same fault on her V40.
Just wondering if the solution was ever found?
