In case anyone needs some bits...

Just got back from Holiday to find the car has been taken to salvage already, even though they told me it would stay put until DVLA had finished transfering the number plate off it.

Ive managed to find out that the car is at

D Hales (Salvage)
Ableton Lane
7 beech
Avonmouth

Tel 0117 7821697

They are not supposed to be disposing of the car for a couple of weeks pending the cherised number transfer. I'm not sure they want me to post where it is but it can be difficult to find bits sometimes.

Was an Auto, Engine had 77600 miles on it FVSH , full ECC, ABS (all working) leather interior etc etc...

Heavy rear damage though.....

Hi Dan, very boring really, but I always wanted the airbox withthe turbo labelled on it. Plain and simple. And that is about it.

Car at front was very complete (at the front), i beleive from what i can now find out that the salvage company will sell it on thier web site and then a dismantler is likely to purchase it and strip it.
I can't even get the remainder of our stuff from it as they moved it whilest i was on holiday

Managed to argue a value of £4,300 from the insurance company , it only had 78K on the clock and i found on auto trader 4 examples of 94/95 T5's with low mileage for £5500-£5900 which is a lot better than thier first offer of £2700 (it took a 24 page fax with copies of service book, every bill, original invoice and several adds from auto-trader)

Anyway took delivery of a 51 plate V70 T5 geartronic at the weekend, lacks the charm of our old 855 T5 and the fuel economy is even worse...but my back is much happier with having a semi decent ride, we will see how long all these new electronic gadgets stay working...

I've experienced the 'enthusiasm' of this D Hales place myself, funnily enough. They wanted to come round to pick up my mildly damaged '93 850 even before the insurance company themselves had informed me of their (misguided) decision to write the car off.

I was still getting phone calls from them after the car had been repaired and put back on the road!

Dodgy.
