Default XC90 fully integrated bluetooth

Hi Everyone,

Just collected our new XC90 today, we didn't add bluetooth because it's the nasty external gadget thing.

Does anyone know where/if we can get a fully integrated bluetooth kit fitted, so it can be used from the stearing wheel?

I friend reckons it can be done with various bits and bobs being purchased and wired in but I thought I'd ask you guys if you knew?

Cheers
Ben.

I seem to remember the salesman at the Volvo garage (Motorworld Swindon) saying that, as the electrics are on fibre optic (?) you couldn't integrate a Bluetooth, but can add on something like a Parrot system. Course, I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time..................

Yup, fibre optics is right and the kit my friend has suggested is capable of coupling to the fibre optic cabling.

If no-one has done it I will take it further with my friend and post what kit/mods are required and see what you all think.

Thanks very much for the reply.

It depends what you mean by fully intergrated. Most of the decent sat navs now have mobile bluetooth compatability, which will enable you to use the mobile handsfree and mute the radio and use the car sound system as the reciver. The price for these are a little more than the bluetooth devices and maybe not quite as intergrated but you get a sat nav as well and they are more than adequate for most users.

Cheers Al,
