Does boost pressure bu**er things up?
Im sort of new to the lpg scene, My dad has an lpg 940, b230fk
I bought back the kit off someone who asked more questions than action (not from forum) It is now definatly going on my car- My dads engine is b230fk or a low pressure turbo, My engine is exactly the same b230fk but running 10psi boostwith a manual boost controller and a higher lift cam. The kit I have is a single point system like my dads which clamps onto the throttle body. Im not sure how the evaporator works, Does it pump or does it rely on the small stepper motor that is in the system as well. My problem being is that with the amount of boost I use, Will it interfere with the lpg system? Are there any b200ft or b230ft owners out there with lpg on their cars? Do you have problems? I kind of like the fact my dad does 180 miles to 35 quid... he has a 40ish litre tank, Ive got a 90 litre. |

Mixer systems work on vacuum. The restriction of the venturi in the mixer creates a vacuum behind it pulling the gas in. On a turbo engine a balance pipe is fitted to the back of the LPG diaphram to balance out the boost.
When mixers were the only systems available it was the only way to convert a turbo and they were a real pain to set up. The more boost the more trouble. Modern injection systems solve this problem as the LPG is fed under pressure. |
