Default !44 Petrol Pump Repair Kit

Please can anyone help. I need a petrol pump repair/overhaul kit for a manual priming type petrol pump as fitted to the B20 engine.

I think you can buy new ones from Brookhouse Volvo, not sure if he'll be open today, but usually very quick delivery and a good bloke to deal with.

Default Petrol pump repair kit.

Thank you for your reply; however I have spoken to Tony Barrett of Brookhouse all ready, but they do not stock this item although he is emailing Sweeden to see if they are available. I have tried a number of specialists also without success. One thought might be if any member has a petrol pump surplus to their needs and is for sale.

I don't think a B20 had a pump with a manual priming lever. Or at least I've never seen one fitted as original to a B20. The glass bowl type pump was used up to '64, after that there was an AC, the "diving bell" pump, and a Pierburg which has a "Chinaman's hat".

The Pierburg that came after that wasn't serviceable.

CVI do the pump repair kits for all three of the serviceable pumps.

Only the B16 had a pump with a priming lever as standard. They are basically the same as the early B18 glass top AC pump.
Why do you need one on a 140?

Default Petrol Pump Repair Kit.

Thank you for all of your replys. My B20 engine is fitted in a 25ft River Cruiser and has the AC Delco ? petrol pump with a manual priming lever fitted. This might be an original modification by the boat builders, as is an external water pump driven off the camshaft. The reason for this type of pump being fitted is because boats often have long periods of not being used and so the petrol in the float chamber usually evaporates, so the ability to manualy prime the carb saves a lot of engine cranking. Many classic cars still have the same type of pump. I want to overhaul the complete fuel system now that the boat is back in the water. Hope that this explains my request.

Default Petrol Pump Repair Kit.

Thank you forthe last two replies. Unfortunately the diagram link from Derek UK is for a carb with a glass bowl which mine does not have, but the link from 940 Turbo looks promising. I do not know if the repair kit as shown will be the same as the one that I need. However at least I can contact the kit supplier direct and take it from there. So once again thank you all for your help and interest. If by any chance any VOC Member has a petrol pump with a manual priming lever but not with a glass filter bowl that might be for sale then please let me know.
