Default XC90 D5 LPG conversion help....

Hi all

I have recently joined this site as it seems to hold all the people with all the answers and everyone seems extremely helpful and some help is what i need..

I am in love with my 2002 80k S60 D5 and after 4 years of trouble free motoring i am reluctantly (mrs wants a change !) changing to an XC90 D5 2006 ish.

My question is regarding an LPG conversion - does anyone know of one that has been done ?

Can anyone recommend a good installer in the Cambridgeshire region or are Classicswede the people to use ?

All information is much appreciated.

To do a full LPG conversion on a D5 firstthing you need to do is convert it to run on petrol! That would involve reducing compression ratio fitting a ignition system and petrol injectors plus control ecu.

If is posible to use LPG addition to improve MPG and power but this is normaly only cost efective for comercial use doing monster miles.

Your best bet would be to go for one of the petrol engined cars and convert that to LPG. Over the D5 the savings are not massive but are still there - Around 20%+ saving over D5 - depending what petrol version you go for.

It pays to do some research and speak to an expert - thanks Dai !!

I think i will steer away from the diesel/lpg conversion and and do the petrol/lpg conversion instead
