Default 2002 V40 1.8 SE LPG Gearbox

I know this might appear strange for an LPG Forum post, but please bear with me.
The 5 speed manual gearbox on my 220k 2002 V40 1.8 SE LPG failed at the easter weekend, making some pretty horrible rattling, grinding noises. All gears are affected, and it needs a replacement box. I have been trying to find a second hand replacement, but have had a tough time identifying the part.
I think that the part number is 30613755 (although oddly there is also a 30613577 Manual Gearbox, which is an uncomfortably similar part number!)
I have been unable to confirm the part number label or stamp on my gearbox, which is still in the car and consequently not easy to look at easily.
I can find plenty of 577's on the internet, but these dont look like my box, and I cant find any 755's in the UK at all.
A local specialist Volvo breaker has told me that the part number is irrelevant (which I dont understand) and that the box he has will fit.
Does anyone know if the 577 will fit? From what I can figure out, the clutch fork (excuse the terminology if it is wrong) would be about 90 degrees further anticlockwise (if facing the engine). Now, initially, I thought that this would be unworkable, but I guess if the hydraulic pipe was extended to meet the now position, it might not matter after all. I dont want to be guessing at this, so would very much appreciate any help, as I suspect that the 755 gearbox may be specific to the LPG model although, having said all that, the general confiuration on my LPG car is similar to the V40 1997 2.0 CD that my missus drives!
Does anyone know the answer to this, or where I can get a second hand 755? Many thanks.

I have looked a little closer, and can see a renault symbol and the digits 541 on the final drive casing. I take it that this should mean it is a Renault Gearbox throughout, but am not sure. The whole thing looks very like my 1997 V40 2.0 petrol CD, which suggests Renault, as I think these were on all the earlier models. Any thoughts anyone? Many thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to help Swede - Much appreciated, as always. However, I think that this is an example of the "wrong" gearbox. I assume that is the mitsubishi type, 30613577.
The one I am looking for looks like these first three, although these are not pics of my actual gearbox, as it is still on the car. Note the clutch fork piston mounting on the bell housing. The last 4 are of the box on my car, with the protective guard removed. Any thoughts?:

There were quite a few gearboxs on ebay. It would also be worth giving some of teh specialist a ring like CP motors - Braydons etc

Thanks Swede... Couldnt see any like mine at all on Ebay, but loads of the other type.
Have now determined that the box is a JC5 Renault, and I have just been over to check one out at a specialist Volvo scrapyard in Heanor, Derbyshire. The guy was confident that it was the right one, and it looked identical to mine, so I had it:

Salvo Group Ltd, Longbridge Lane, Heanor, Derbyshire DE7 57GH
Telephone +44 (0) 1773 531188

Paid £95, and it has a 90 day return policy.

I will post how it gets on when installed. I have also photographed the replacement, in case it is of help to anyone else.

Many thanks again.

Default more on identify

Anyone have more info on the reanult symbol and the digits ? I have also 54.1 after the symbol . the other ones are production date etc .
My replacement gearbox has the digits 52.4 but both gearboxes are from 1,8 petrols. I have the M3P i guess , but I wonder if the digits tells me if it will fit or not. The identify plate is of course not readable.
