crap rti
my dads xc90 t6 exe is a nice motor, but the sat nav is useless, "take a sight right turn" i quote, what on earth is a slight turn?
besides that i missed a turn off in a town centre where the destination was only 11 miles away and then it wanted me to do a 115 mie detour, which could have been replaed by a 0.2mile one, what on earth is going on. We have the 2004 disc.

Take a look at my earlier post in this section - "RTI Sat Nav; in a world of its' own" - you are not alone and I can tell you that having replaced the 2004 discs in my system with the latest TMC Traffic Info discs things are little better. I could go on for hours but I need to keep my blood pressure down!
It was standard fit in my Exec but in future I would rather spend the money on a TomTom or Navman - friends who have these portable systems seem to find them much more reliable (although no system will ever be 100% perfect) |

The RTI will now work if you purchase a new set of DVDs (about £200 unless you can get a deal) but from experience I would have to say it's not worth it, better to spend the money on something like a Trafficmaster Freeway (about £40 on e-bay) which while being speech only is much more reliable than the RTI.

TomTom lives...
I'd MUCH rather use my TomTom than the Volvo SatNav system.
John R p.s. I do however love the way the Volvo system rises from the dashboard - that must be worth a grand just by itself! |
