Default Urgent help needed

Hi all need help asap. as i my privious post im fitting a replacment transfer box today. And when fitting it the top bolt one u can't get to or see has snapped the casing not happy!!
Ive managed to change internals into my original casing
And need to know the torque settings for the prop flange and the the touque settings for the casing to the gearbox. And for piece of mind i offered up transfer box and it slid on sleeve gear nice and easy but stopped 15mm away from gearbox do i need to lever it all way rather than pulling it in with bolts as didnt go on square to box. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I hope you get some advice soon.

I had mine fitted by my indi garage but bought and supplied the parts. I assume you fitted a new spline drive and seal kit. I know the spline drive has a shoulder on it and two different sizes of seals, one for each end plus a retaining clip. I guess the spline drive will only therefore fit one way, but the oil seals could be fitted the wrong way round?

I really cannot think of any reason for the parts not reseating.

If nothing else,, this post should bring you to the fore and I hope you get a more experienced response.

Cheers

Hello all ive got car back together and all seems good except for i now have vibration when idleing ive checked gearbox oil level as bast as i can got car up to temp and ran through all gears and topped up and is now bang in middle of hot marks and lot of vibration has gone but when i select reverse and then vibration comes back... car is great whilst driving and lot smoother and gear change is better. I only topped oil back up rather than full flush...

Probably the engine mounts (esp the vacuum pads).

Would this make car come to a stop.
Popped to shop and did some more testing and going straight car is fine and smooth as soon as i turn get vibration and further i turn vibration gets worse and then car comes to a holt and wont move.
I even tried selecting netural whilst costing at 5mph turned hard and its like brakes are being applied.
Very very confused..

In that case, either the brakes are binding when lock is applied or the CV joints are siezed.

Im thinking u are right and its cv joint as it was seeized in hub so i had to remove complete to do transferbox and replaced as one unit and that makes more sense that its then winding up diff and causeing the vibration untill i straighten up wheels and reversed a little...

Did you assemble the driveshaft screws and torque them up properly? If the driveshaft isn't screwed to the hub it can play havoc with ABS/DSTC. Difficult to see why the CV joint is seized just because the spline was seized into the hub. Just an idea -Jack the offending wheel off the ground and safely support then switch off engine while in neutral and see if you can turn the wheel while on full lock. Make sure car is well supported and other wheels chocked/handbrake on.

Hi all lifted car up today and spun wheels buy hand on full lock and no probs even turned both front wheels at same time in same direction and cv is spinning fine..
Spoke to local volvo specialist today and hes under impression its the viscus coupling in rear diff is winding up due to diffrent wheel speeds.
I do have codes logged for DEM and anti skid message
So now i need to know if the DEM can cause this or wether its the diff itself aswell as DEM i need to replace.

I know where i can get a rear diff from local but its on a 2004 d5 model and need to know how to tell if its compatible with my 2005 d5
