That must have made you smile smugly. I can't wait for it to snow down in Wiltshire having just spent just short of 2 grand having the core plug and transfer box replaced on the XC70. AWD now working. Derek.

I got my 2003 up a 1 in 5 hill in 8 inches of snow last year.... past a Police X5 and a Evoque that were both stuck. It's not just that it managed it - it did so with commensurate ease and no drama.
A lot to do with the tyres of course - Cooper Discoverer MS2's (now replaced by Weathermaster).

Still ,dont underate their capability on snow , in the year I bought mine 2010 , I was caught 20 miles from home in what has been remembered as snowapocolyst , my car was fitted with worn down pirellis , i got home with not so much as a slide, passing hundreds of abandoned cars

I would have loved to see the other drivers faces as they got passed by a caravan :-)

Yes so would I, especially the small black car at the rear. I had pulled over to the side of the road couple of miles earlier to let a couple of cars past and as that one passed the driver gave me a long angry blast of their horn which ticked me off no end. Just wish I had done the same to them on my way past
